Assembly-Line Breeding & Production Compound
A dedicated second base built purely for output: stacked breeding farms on one side, ranches and plantations on the other, with a central kitchen turning crops into an endless cake supply. Best on flat ground such as the plain south of Cinnamoth Forest (around -77, -310). Separating breeding from mining keeps Pal pathing clean, so eggs and cakes generate around the clock. π Build steps
- 1
Claim a completely flat site with your second Palbox and clear every rock and tree inside the radius. Flat ground matters more than resources here, because breeding farms and plantations refuse to snap onto slopes and Pals stall on uneven terrain.
π Aim for a clear, flat circle the full Palbox radius wide
- 2
Lay a large foundation slab across half the radius as your production floor. Foundations stop grass regrowth, speed up placement snapping, and let you align farms in tidy rows you can expand later.
π Approximately 16x12 foundation footprint
- 3
Place two breeding farms side by side at the back of the slab with a shared egg-collection walkway between them. Put a chest at the walkway mouth reserved only for cakes, because breeding farms pull cake automatically from a chest placed close by.
π Each breeding farm is roughly 7x7 tiles; leave a 2-tile walkway between
- 4
Build the food chain along one edge: three berry plantations, one wheat plantation, a mill, a cooking pot, and a ranch for eggs and milk. Assign Chikipi and Mozzarina to the ranch so cake ingredients generate passively.
π 3 berry + 1 wheat plantation, each about 4x4 tiles
- 5
Staff the compound with watering, planting, gathering, kindling, and transporting Pals. Pals with the Artisan passive or high work suitability levels dramatically shorten the cake pipeline, so filter your box for work speed rather than combat stats.
π 8-10 worker Pals; at least level 2 kindling for the cooking pot
- 6
Cook cakes in batches and keep the cake chest stocked with at least ten. Then drop your chosen breeding pair into a farm and confirm the parents icon appears; one cake is consumed per egg produced.
π Target a standing stock of 10+ cakes
- 7
Build an incubator row on its own foundation strip near the Palbox, with campfires beside them in cold weather or if the eggs demand warmth. Comfortable eggs hatch dramatically faster, and a row lets you cycle many eggs per session.
π 4-6 egg incubators in a single row, 1 tile apart
- 8
Add a hot spring and enough beds for every worker, tucked in a corner away from the farms. Sanity crashes are the main thing that silently stops breeding compounds, so watch the sanity bar on your kindling and watering Pals especially.
π 1 hot spring per 8-10 Pals, beds for all workers
- 9
Fence or wall the plantation side so wandering breeding parents cannot trample paths through crops, and keep a one-gate entrance. Condense chests near the Palbox and periodically ship finished cakes, eggs, and surplus crops to your main base.
π Perimeter fence or 2-high wall, single gate
